2021 China Africa Textile And Clothing Forum And China Africa Cultural Exchange Forum Held

From November 5 to 7, 2021, the reporter learned that the 2021 China Africa textile and clothing international forum and Sino African cultural exchange forum jointly sponsored by Donghua University and Moi University of Kenya was held in the cloud.

Since 2015, the forum has been held by China and Africa in turn, and is now the seventh session. More than 20 universities from Moi University in Kenya, bakhdar University in Ethiopia and other countries along the belt and road initiative, and more than 70 experts and scholars from Oxford University in the UK and domestic universities and institutions participated in the online interaction.

Richard savigliano, representative of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, said that the textile and clothing industry is related to the well-being of human society, high-level employment, and increasing foreign exchange earnings, and plays an important role in the social and economic development of Africa. In the post epidemic era, countries should attach importance to the development of textile and clothing industry, create employment opportunities in the process of economic recovery and further promote industrialization.

Ruth sallow, the world bank, said the forum, which coincides with the 26th UN climate conference, is at the right time to focus on green economy, sustainable development, inclusive economy and social equity. Through practical actions and effective suggestions, the participants promoted the development of green technology, scientific research innovation and technological transformation in the fields of textile and clothing, hoping that universities and research institutions would contribute more wisdom and strength.

As for the future oriented community of common destiny for China and Africa, Yoro Diallo, former first counsellor of Mali in China, senior researcher at the Institute of African Studies of Zhejiang Normal University and curator of the African Museum, believes that Africa should learn from China's successful experience in poverty alleviation, and strengthen poverty reduction cooperation plays an important role and is also a key area in China Africa cooperation, Africa should give priority to the development of poverty alleviation infrastructure, public health system and capacity-building.

The forum has set up a main forum and six sub forums around the theme of "green textile technology and sustainable development". Experts and scholars participating in the meeting shared in-depth thoughts on the development of textile cutting-edge science and technology and the construction of a community of common destiny for mankind, focusing on textiles for emergency and epidemic prevention, future textiles, green advanced textile technology, functional fiber materials, theory and practice of community of common destiny for mankind, and "one belt and one road" initiative, double cycle and sustainable development. At the same time, 72 high-quality papers were selected and compiled and published by Donghua University Press.
